What is Occupational Therapy?

Don't worry, we get the question daily! Occupational Therapy (OT) addresses an individual's daily needs so that they are able to care for themselves and/or others and participate in the most important parts of their day. OTs work with clients to maximize their potential and ability to participate in the activities most important to them, regardless of challenge or disability.

A child's primary occupations include play, school/learning, social interactions, learning self-care and independence, and their ability to manage sensory and emotional experiences. OT provides a broad spectrum of interventions and strategies to address a child's daily needs and make them successful across all environments.

Not sure if OT is the right fit for your family? Contact us! We would love to guide and support you and answer all of your questions.

Beginnings Pediatric Therapy

    What We Offer

    Individual Sessions

Beginnings Pediatric Therapy specializes in pediatric OT to support children with developmental disabilities or delays. We work with children to improve their motor skill development, feeding difficulties, sensory processing, emotional regulation, social emotional learning, and self-care abilities.

    Family Centered Care

We believe in a client centered approach, recognizing that every child is unique. We work closely with parents and caregivers to understand each child's needs and goals, using evidence-based interventions to help families reach their goals.

    Holistic Approach

Beginnings uses different intervention strategies, modalities, and evidence-based techniques to best support each child. We work with families and consider family dynamics, environment, culture, and religious beliefs to responsibly and respectfully meet their needs.

    How to Get Started

    Referral Process

If you have concerns about your child's development, talk with your pediatrician. A physician can make a referral for occupational therapy services, and you can ask them to send it to Beginnings Pediatric Therapy. Once we have received the referral, we will reach out directly to you to discuss scheduling and next steps.

If you are unsure how to start this process, give us a call or email and we are happy to help you through it.
